Amy Lam is a writer and editor based in Portland, Oregon and Oxford, Mississippi. She is the Contributing Editor at Bitch Media, a Kundiman fellow, and the John & Renee Grisham fellow at the University of Mississippi where she is an MFA candidate. Amy was born in Chinatown, Los Angeles, raised in the San Gabriel Valley, and has lived and worked in Huarong, Hunan, China and Chittagong, Bangladesh.
Her work has appeared in Bitch Media: Feminist Response to Pop Culture, Utne Reader, Pacifica Literary Review, Glimpse, and Papercutter. She is a former punk kid, who penned a long-running column in Razorcake, the only non-profit music magazine in the US.
Amy is a first-generation university graduate, a child of refugees, and a descendant of diaspora.
